Choosing the right brand of diapers can be a challenging decision especially for new parents embarking on their journey of parenthood. I have personally experienced this.
The needs, expectations, and experiences of mothers vary, making it unfeasible to find a unanimous agreement on the best diaper brand. Personally, the key considerations when selecting a diaper brand are absorbency, comfort, breathability and cost-effectiveness.
In this post, I will be reviewing three diaper brands (tape and M size) that are readily available in various retail locations, both online and offline. It is important to note that this review does not aim to make direct comparisons between the three brands, as they may not be completely similar.
1. MamyPoko Extra Dry
MamyPoko diapers are widely sold and can be easily found at convenience stores, supermarkets, and online marketplaces.
I have been using MamyPoko Extra Dry (Tape) for my baby.
1) Absorbency
The absorbency is good, as my baby’s skin stays dry even after urinating and wearing the diaper for extended periods. I did not encounter any problems with leaks.
2) Comfort & Breathability
The texture of the diaper is soft and comfortable all around. I appreciate that the waist section also has a soft feel which I later learned that it is constructed with a fine non-woven fabric. I did not notice any moisture in the inner portions of the diaper, indicating good breathability.
3) Value For Money
The MamyPoko Extra Dry (M) diapers can be purchased at a cost of approximately RM0.74 to RM0.77 per piece. In my opinion, this diaper provides a reasonable value for money based on the performance and added features for the price.
4) Additional Comments
The MamyPoko Extra Dry diaper comes with a wetness indicator which I sometimes use to check if it is time to change my baby’s diaper.
In contrast to certain other diaper brands, MamyPoko’s re-attachable tape is soft and has a unique color, allowing me to easily pull it up and efficiently complete the diaper changing process in a short amount of time.
Final Verdict
If you are searching for a recommended diaper brand by mothers and not too particular about price, MamyPoko should be included in your shopping list.
2. Molfix Extra Dry
Molfix diapers may have caught your attention while browsing through grocery stores, as they are becoming increasingly available in retail stores.
1) Absorbency
Despite being worn for several hours, the diaper remains dry and has good absorption. I did not encounter any leakage issues while my baby slept in various positions, indicating that the diaper effectively absorbs fluids from different angles.
2) Comfort & Breathability
The diaper provides a soft and comfortable feel all around. My baby had no problems wearing it and his skin was fine even after extended use.
3) Value For Money
You can get Molfix Extra Dry (M) diapers for RM0.41 per diaper. I find this diaper provides excellent value for its price, offering good overall performance and added features.
4) Additional Comments
The Molfix Extra Dry comes with a wetness indicator.
Final Verdict
If you are searching for a dependable, cost-effective diaper for the long haul, Molfix Extra Dry is a top choice. Its affordable price is a significant bonus, making it a worthwhile option to consider.
3. Diapex Easy
During a routine trip to the supermarket, I stumbled upon Diapex Easy. Intrigued by its affordable price and its association with NTPM, the company behind popular tissue brands like Royal Gold and Premier, I decided to test out Diapex Easy (Tape).
1) Absorbency
The absorption of the product is satisfactory as my infant’s skin remains dry even after extended use.
2) Comfort & Breathability
Overall, the texture of the diaper is acceptable. The outer layer, leg cuffs and waistband could use some improvement in terms of softness. As for breathability, there was no noticeable moisture in the inner parts of the diaper, which is a positive aspect.
3) Value For Money
You can get Diapex Easy for around RM0.38 to RM0.40 per diaper. In my opinion, it offers great value for money due to its functionality and affordable price.
4) Additional Comments
The Diapex Easy diaper does not have a wetness indicator, but this is to be expected given its price.
Final Verdict
Having Diapex Easy as either your primary or standby diaper is highly beneficial and cost-effective, especially for parents who have to deal with high frequency of diaper changes.
